Mandelic or Amygdalic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid with 8 carbon atoms, derived from the hydrolysis of a bitter almond extract.
In several studies it has been tested in the treatment of the most common cases of skin blemishes such as photoaging, irregular pigmentation, acne.
More acidic than glycolic acid at a temperature of 25°C, Mandelic acid has proved to be an effective exfoliating peeling which acts by causing a slight burning and redness.
In particular, the principle is active in the repair and reactivation of the skin. The causes are to be found in its depigmenting properties, such as to make it a product indicated in the treatment of non-cystic inflammatory acne.
It is also observed that, not being a photosensitizer, it lightens freckles more quickly than common alpha hydroxyacids.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Mandelic acid can be used throughout the year, regardless of the phototype of the patient, due to the absence of the risk of hyperpigmentation.

TREATMENT
1. Cleanse the skin with cleansing milk, remove with water, apply tonic and rinse.
2. Apply the pre-peeling lotion, massage gently with your fingertips and rinse.
3. Apply the Mandelic Acid 30% peeling on the area to be treated (not around the eyes), leave for 5-10 minutes and rinse thoroughly.
4. Apply a moisturizing, decongestant cream (Crema Vita E or Calendula Cream) as a compress and after leaving it on for 10-15 minutes, remove it delicately with tissue paper.
5. The 15% Mandelic Acid Cream can be used as home maintenance and applied 5/6 days after the first treatment, then once a week or 10 days depending on the sensitivity of the skin (it will be assessed by the beautician). The Cream must also be left on for 10-15 minutes and then rinsed off.
6. Finally, necessarily apply a high factor protective cream (Phytosun spf 50+).
